The annual Life Chain is a silent prayer vigil by Christians to express our support for the protection of unborn babies. The Life Chain is prayerful, safe, peaceful, and legal, not political nor confrontational. The Melbourne Life Chain team will hand out signs that state the truth about abortion, and offer alternatives to killing. It is an excellent opportunity for local churches to unite in prayer and inform our community about the unconscionable destruction of unborn babies. Hundreds of defenders of human life will stand, sit, or kneel along U.S. 192, where thousands will see our life-affirming messages.

HNJ parishioners are invited to gather along U.S. 192 (New Haven Avenue), from Wickham Rd, extending eastward 1/2 mile. Pro-life signs will be available near Walgreens at the corner of U.S. 192 and Wickham Rd., and at Target, 1/2 mile east of Wickham Rd. Feel free to bring chairs, strollers, umbrellas, sunscreen and water. All ages are welcome. Come rain or shine!

    Wednesday Oct 16, 2019 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM

Table Hospitality in Luke - Acts
Please join us for three sessions on Wed, Oct 16, 23 and 30, at 7:00 pm in Rm. 101.

The Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles, both written by St. Luke, have one particularly pervasive theme: the work of spreading the good news of God’s Kingdom shares many aspects of simple table hospitality. Jesus did some of His very best work over meals in a variety of settings, ranging from strangers’ houses to outdoor venues
to dinner parties planned by enemies to entrap Him. Even after His resurrection, Jesus still shared meals with His disciples. And later in Acts, the apostles continued to expand the notion of who are fit to share food with at the table and what foods can be shared. Join us as we look at the details of Jesus’ table hospitality, its relationship to the Eucharist and its foreshadowing of the heavenly banquet of salvation. All are welcome. Facilitated by Jim Curry, HNJ RCIA Coordinator.
