Are You Thinking About Becoming Catholic?

DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO BECOME A CATHOLIC?
If you have been thinking about becoming a Catholic, or know someone who is, find out what it takes to become a fully initiated member of the Catholic Church!  Our RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) program oversees the formation, instruction and admission of children, teenagers and adults into the Catholic faith.  There are no fees for participation in the RCIA programs.

RCIA FOR ADULTS
If the Holy Spirit has been speaking to your heart about becoming a Catholic, or if you have been talking about becoming a Catholic with your family and friends, then this year is the year to take some positive steps toward deepening your faith and becoming a Catholic.  Our program for adults begins in August with two Inquiry Sessions on Sun, Aug 20 & 27, at 9:00 am.  Our regular Sunday morning instructional sessions will begin on Sun, Sep 11, at 9:00 am. If you are interested in becoming a Catholic, or if you have been baptized and have not received the other sacraments, please contact Bryan Gent, RCIA Coordinator, x111, bryangent@hnj.org.

RCIA FOR CHILDREN AND TEENS
Sign up now for RCIA for Children and Teenagers:   If you have or know children who are not baptized and are 8 years old or over and under the age of 18, please consider having them baptized and initiated into the Catholic Church this year.  Our RCIA Program has two programs for these children:  RCIA for Children–for children 8 to about 13, and RCIA for Teens–for middle- and high-school age children. Passing on your Catholic Faith is one of the most important decisions a parent can make . . . please consider making this the year that you get your children baptized.  Sessions begin in September.  For more information, please contact Bryan Gent, RCIA Coordinator, x111, bryangent@hnj.org.

BECOME AN RCIA CATECHIST
Would you like to be a Catechist in the RCIA program for Children or Teens?  The RCIA program at HNJ is looking for a limited number of additional catechists to teach catechumens ages 8 to 17.  Almost all of the RCIA’s programs are on Sunday mornings from mid-August through early June.  We particularly need experienced catechists with specific experience teaching teenagers and children.  Preference is given to certified catechists, to persons with professional teaching experience and to those who have been previously involved in the sacramental preparation of teens and children. A background check and fingerprinting are required for all those working with minors.  If interested, please contact Bryan Gent, RCIA Coordinator, x111, bryangent@hnj.org.
