The next 3 ½ day Kairos retreat begins Thurs, Nov 14 at Central Florida Reception Center (located near Mile # 19 on the Beachline Expressway).
Supporters may donate a ticket for meals or offer a prayer commitment. Each is an important way to be with the team if we can’t enter the prison. Five meals will be served at family tables for a cost of $12.50 each. The prayer promise is a loop of colored paper which will be linked with others in a large chain. Next weekend, Nov 9-10, volunteers will be collecting cash donations for meals, and preparing the prayer chain, All cash donors will receive a witness report with words heard from the men at the closing.
The Kairos weekend is a one-time event for any inmate. Over 100 inmates will usually sign up, but there’s room for only 42 at family tables. (Those who’ve attended the Christ Renews weekend would be familiar with this.) Afterwards they can attend the monthly reunions, which are supported by returning volunteers.
