Holy Name of Jesus

You might know it as Catechism Class or CCD, and it is intended to assist parents in the development of their child’s relationship with Jesus. HNJ has classes and programs for children as young as 3 years old and up through high school. Beyond helping your child prepare for First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation, we want to help your child know Jesus and understand the teachings of the Church. This is best done on a consistent basis throughout his/her life! Programs for children at HNJ include Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, HNJ Kids Faith Formation, Edge Middle School Ministry, and LifeTeen High School Ministry.
What is Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS)? 
CGS provides a hands on Montessori approach to Faith Formation starting with our youngest children. CGS classes begin for children ages 3-5 (Level 1). We offer multiple opportunities during the week: Tuesdays from 3:00-4:15 pm, Thursdays from 9:30-11:00 pm, or Sundays from 10:00-11:30 pm. The program continues to build on the foundations of Level 1 with Level 2 & 3. These classes require completion of Level 1.
When are the other classes held?
HNJ Kids (grades K-5) is offered on Tuesdays from 3:00-4:15 pm or Wednesdays from 6:00-7:15 pm.
Edge (grades 6-8) is offered on Wednesdays from 6:00-7:30 pm.
LifeTeen (grades 9-12) is offered on Sundays from 5:00-8:00 pm and includes 5:00 pm Mass.
When can I register my child?
Registration will be available online starting,Tues, Aug 1, or forms can be picked up in the Parish Office. Registration tables will be set up after the Masses on Sun, Aug 13.
