 At HNJ we offer a variety of gatherings throughout the School Year focusing on the subject of:

• Building Strong Catholic Families
• Sharing Catholic Values
• Living Christian Virtues
• Promoting Child Safety

We offer a Family Life Series to assist parents in creating conversation within the home that will include enhancing Communication skills, Child Safety Education, and Practical advice for helping children build self-confidence and assertiveness skills. This series will enrich your family's sense of a Catholic identity, assist you in practicing virtues that lead to Christian living, and provide strategies that will help your children be safe and healthy in mind and spirit.

 

We meet every Wednesday at 8:00 am in the Chapel before Mass; and for expanded versions we meet the 1st Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm in Room 4 and every Friday at 8:00 am in Room 4. HNJ’s Annual Beachside Fall Festival always has lots of great food and fun for the entire family. Our arts & crafts sale showcases the creative work of local artisans. Trained individuals, provide care and scripture-based activities for children for various parish functions (e.g. Sunday Nursery, Mom’s Morning Out, Great Dates). Women gather weekly to work on various projects that are later sold to raise money for the needy. Weekly meetings are on Thursdays, from 10:00 am-2:00 pm in Room 3. A faith based comprehensive program to strengthen, support and restore marriages. Couple to couple mentors assist engaged and married couples. • Marriage Preparation—FOCCUS is an inventory of 150 questions in 15 different categories e.g. communication, finances, marriage as a covenant, spirituality to determine an engaged couples compatibility on these issues and to establish a good foundation for the Sacrament of Marriage.
• Marriage Enrichment—Programs designed to enrich, support and strengthen marriages, including:
• RE-FOCCUS—Is an inventory of probing questions for an existing marriage to be used as an enrichment tool for discussion and to help objectify disagreements.
• Great Dates—A once a month opportunity for couples to enjoy a night out together, childcare provided, focusing on the enrichment topic provided.
• Marriage Encounter—A weekend focused on each other during which couples learn the single most important communication skill to enhance their marriage.  Celebrate your marriage by attending the Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend at the Double Tree Hotel in Indialantic on Apr 20-22. The weekend is a positive, simple, common sense, private experience between husband and wife that revitalizes your marriage. • Restoring Marriages—This ministry uses various programs, e.g. Reconciling God's Way, a 17-step program, and Retrovaille (http://www.retrouvaille.org/dates.php?community=3003)—a weekend retreat to assist couples experiencing significant trouble.
• Blended Families—Couples who have experienced success in blending separate families assist other couples.
• Natural Family Planning—A proven method of both understanding and being open to the sexuality of oneself and one's spouse which greatly enhances the intimacy of marriage.
• Marriage Mentors—Couples who have been married at least 15 years who have successfully weathered whatever problems life has brought during their marriage; who are willing to listen non-judgmentally to the problems other couples are experiencing; and share from the heart whatever techniques or solutions did or did not work for them.
• Divorce Support—This peer-to-peer ministry walks with individuals experiencing the devastating effects of separation and divorce and provides healing programs e.g. Divorce Care; Rebuilding; Just Me and the Kids.

Daisy Scouts, Brownie Scouts, Junior Scout, and Cadets participate in service projects, camping, special events, and of course cookie sales! Participation is open to all girls in grades K-8. For more information, contact Tricia Rydson 321-951-2033.

The Cub Scout Pack 380 & The Boy Scout Troop 380 offers enjoyable and challenging programs for all Scouts to develop the confidence, skills, character, and mental fitness that will allow them to give quality leadership to a changing society.

Small Church Communities, consisting of 8-12 parishioners, come together to be a little church within a larger church.  They allow parishioners to provide support and encouragement to each other by sharing their personal experiences and getting to know one another through fellowship and outreach.  There are five characteristics of small church communties:  prayer/reflection, faith sharing, mutual support, continued education and mission/outreach. 

Some groups choose to use resource materials for sharing Scripture such as Fr. Tobin's  commentaries on the current readings.

Provides, coffee, donuts and an opportunity for fellowship after the 7:15, 8:45 and 10:30 am Masses.

Affiliated with the National Council of Catholic Women, the Guild sponsors community projects, an annual fashion show, and charity fundraisers. The Shepherd's Center-Beachside, Inc. is an interfaith organization whose mission is to shape a new image of aging that will provide an opportunity for adults over the age of 55 to enhance their quality of life by:

• Being creative and productive throughout their later years.
• Using their talents, skills and knowledge to benefit others.
• Serving as a conduit for information and referral to services available through other agencies both public and private for the purpose of linking persons and resources.
• Developing programs especially suited to feed the mind and spirit and enhance life satisfaction through artistic expression, community service, caring relationships, lifelong learning and the discovery of inner resources.

 

Local churches and synagogues sponsor this organization and some provide a campus where these learning opportunities take place. There are four terms each year (Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall).
