Personal tablets will be used in Middle School

HNJ Catholic School

samsungtabletAll sixth, seventh, and eighth graders will be using a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet for all their middle school classes starting with the 2013/14 school year. It will serve several purposes and function in different ways. Students can use the tablet as an interactive, electronic textbook that can show a rotating graphic, display a glossary definition, or take notes on the same screen. Teachers can access student assignments through cloud storage as a paperless system to review, edit, and return documents. Classroom uses include word processing, note taking, writing assignments and presentations–all from the students' individual device. Each student will use their same individual tablet for all their middle school years and once they graduate from eighth grade, it's theirs to keep!

HNJ Sports for Everyone

HNJ Catholic School

soccerStudents at HNJ can be involved in a variety of sports throughout the year. In middle school, there are boys and girls teams for basketball, cross country/running, tennis, and track. Girls in middle school can participate in volleyball, cheerleading, pep squad and softball, while boys can test their mettle on the football field. There is even a coed soccer team.

The softball team has taken the championship title the last two years while basketball and football have also been champions in the recent past.

Our teams are part of the Catholic Coastal League which includes Brevard County Catholic schools as well as schools from Vero Beach. Elementary students can play winter soccer and spring basketball.

The elementary teams participate in the Catholic Youth League against area catholic schools. In school Physical Education classes, students learn the rules and scoring for all sports during class time and are taught the skills required to play the sports correctly.
